What is ADAS and Why is it Important
ADAS are safety features in modern cars that rely on cameras, radars, and sensors mounted in various locations on the body of a vehicle. These cameras, radars, and sensors will require alignment or calibration due to a collision, windshield replacement, suspension alignment, or vehicle service. Proper maintenance of ADAS will ensure safety and accuracy of the vehicle’s performance.
Many windshields have integrated cameras, radars, and sensors that gather information about the road and surrounding environment. When replacing a windshield these cameras, radars, and sensors need to be carefully removed and reinstalled on the new windshield which requires a specialized calibration process to ensure they are positioned accurately. If not properly calibrated, ADAS features may malfunction, potentially compromising driver safety and performance.
